The rural India is rich in artisans and cottage industries. The age old processes and techniques are still used due to lack of knowledge and proper training. In the present age of globalisation, the skills of rural India are wasted as the products manufactured could not be priced competetively. The youth are without direction. In spite of country’s progress in recent years, unemployment is a major worry. It is felt necessary to train the youth in technical skills to make them employ themselves in a self reliant way. To impart necessary primary technical inputs it is proposed to start a Technical Institute at Baptist Centre India.
The Technical Institute will have training facilities in the branches of carpentry, civil construction, manufacture of arte facts like toys etc., food processing, manufacture, repair & maintenance of agricultural implements, welding etc. The college also will have a computer lab to impart computer skills. The aim is to train the youth in latest technology.
It is proposed to construct the college building having 3 floors with total contructed area of 17061 sft. The cost of civil works is estimated at Rs 75.00 lacs($166,670).
